Diversified Shipping Network

Overview

The global supply chain network is very intricate, and there are a variety of options and decisions to make when trying to move something from point A to point B. As industry experts we will work with you to find a solution that meets your unique needs.

Types of Transport

Over the Road (OTR) Shipping

The most common method to ship goods. We partner with transportation companies across the world and can arrange for your goods to move by truck.

Intermodal (IMDL) Shipping

Better known as moving freight by train. In Canada there are two main companies that do this, Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific (CP), and we work with both of them to service your needs.

Ocean Freight Shipping

This involves loading your goods into a container, transporting it to the closest dock or port (usually done through a combination of OTR and IMDL), and from there it is loaded onto a cargo ship. This is the most cost-effective way to ship freight overseas. We will plan and coordinate the entire trip for your freight, offering an entire end-to-end process. We work directly with the largest shipping companies in the world, enabling us to service nearly any region in the world.

Air Freight Shipping

The fastest, but also the most expensive way to ship your freight, most suitable for smaller packages that need to arrive very quickly.

Through many years in the industry, our expertise lies in Ocean Freight Shipping, but we have the capability and relationship for OTR and IMDL as well. Call us today and we can discuss how we can support.

Do I want a Full Container Load (FCL) or Less than Container Load (LCL) Shipment?

The answer to this really does depend on your requirements.

Full Container Load (FCL)

This is typically the best choice for larger shipments, or when there is a need for the goods to arrive more quickly than a LCL option. FCL shipments are more secure, as once the container is closed a numbered seal is placed on it, ensuring that it is not opened until it arrives at the end destination. For FCL shipments, you are the only customer in the container, and based on how much you want to ship there are a few options.

Less Than Container Load (LCL)

This is a great option for when you do not have enough goods to fill out an entire container, but want to take advantage of the cost savings associated with ocean freight shipping. Your goods will be put into a custom-made crate, and then consolidated into a container with other customers who are also shipping to the same location. You only pay based on the volume your goods took up in the container (which is how you unlock the cost savings), but the trade-off is that timelines are usually longer than FCL due to the consolidation process. We currently only service select destinations for LCL shipments, so give us a call to discuss your needs.
